Points Race after five weeks

Surprise, Team Fwet is still in the lead!
They’ve posted 632 points through five weeks (126 ppg).
The next contenders are the Scrotums and the Nation, who are tied at 579 points (116 ppg), putting them 53 points behind.
In fourth, and basically rounding out the leading contenders is Man of Steal with 559 point (112); they’re behind by 73.
After that, we’ve got the BullGators, who is the only team left with a remotely realistic chance of closing the gap – they’re at 538 points (108 ppg) and are 94 points behind Fwet.

After that, we’re looking at teams who are just about out of it after five weeks. In order:
Dumb F’ing Cows – 505 points (101 ppg), 127 points back
Las Vatas Locas – 498 points (100 ppg), 128 points back
Brown Dawgs – 498 points (100 ppg), 128 points back
2 Girls 1 Cup – 387 points (77 ppg), 245 points back
Fleur de Lis in Tennessee – 382 points (76 ppg), 250 points back

I’ve starting tracking a couple of other bits of info, including average points per game. Currently, for the league, the average points per game is 103. So, if you’re scoring above that, you’re in better shape then if you’re below that. Of course you can see that there are five teams above and five teams below, so the average holds up. And the average has been surprisingly constant from week to week. Week 1 – 98 ppg; Week 2 – 104; Week 3 – 101; Week 4 – 103; Week 5 – 103. At some point I’d like to take a look at the overall record of the so-called “good teams” versus the “bad teams” in terms of how they relate to the average for a given week. One example I’m thinking about was the Nation’s 95-point performance this past week; against almost any other team that would have been a loss, but since they faced a pitiful 57-point outing against Fleur, then they caught a break on the average. On the other side, I look at the Scrotums/Cows (122-119 score) contest, where the Scrotums were above the average as a “good” team while the Cows, a “bad” team, also went above the average. Perhaps I’m confusing my own case here and should just stop rambling on, but following these numbers from week to week, you start to notice little things.
